Event Discovery & Social Matching

University life can feel isolating, especially for commuters juggling tight schedules or first-years still finding their feet. Uni-Connect cuts through the noise by curating campus events, matching students by shared interests, and sending real-time alerts so nobody misses out.

My Role & Core Skills

  • Conducted user research through surveys and 1-on-1 interviews (n = 15), analyzing insights to understand student pain points and social needs on campus.
  • Organized interview insights using an affinity diagram, clustering responses to identify key themes and inform design priorities.
  • Created personas, journey maps, and unified six event sources for streamlined navigation.
  • Built low-fi wireframes, paper prototypes, and high-fi Figma prototypes with a reusable design system.
  • Conducted usability testing with 9 participants (3 per session) — System Usability Scale score 82/100 — and iterated navigation and matching flows.

Financial Literacy: Learn & Earn

For the 2024 Sun Life Design Jam, our team tackled the theme of financial literacy by creating PawPal, a mobile app that combines learning with gamification. Users take care of a virtual puppy and unlock clothes, food, and toys by completing financial literacy lessons, turning education into a rewarding experience.

My Role & Key Skills

  • UI/UX Design (Figma): Created intuitive app flows and playful high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Gamification & Interaction Design: Designed reward mechanics linking learning progress with in-app customization.
  • User Research: Studied target users to align content and features with motivational triggers.
  • Prototyping & Presentation: Built interactive prototypes and delivered final pitch to judges and peers.

Beyond the Seat Experience

As part of the 2024 Rogers Design Jam, our team reimagined the Rogers customer experience with the theme "Beyond the Seat." We redesigned the Rogers website and proposed a new business model: Unlimited VR Plays, a subscription service offering unlimited access to immersive VR content.

My Role & Key Skills

  • UI/UX Design (Figma): Designed user flows and high-fidelity prototypes to streamline site navigation.
  • Concept Development: Ideated Unlimited VR Plays model and user journey scenarios.
  • Business Planning: Co-created pricing, target audience profiles, and value proposition in pitch deck.

Mental Health Discovery

For the 2023 Sun Life Design Jam, our team tackled the challenge of mental health accessibility by creating Tranquill, a web platform that centralizes therapist information to make finding the right professional easier. Users can browse therapists based on specialty, cost, availability, and preferences, helping reduce barriers to mental health support.

My Role & Key Skills

  • UI/UX Design (Figma): Developed responsive web layouts and polished high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Information Architecture: Structured therapist profiles and filters for intuitive navigation.
  • User Research: Gathered insights via interviews and validated design through user testing.
